Temporary. Temporary.

“Sojourn”
Self-Portrait, May 2023

Temporary. Temporary. All that exists is temporary.

We are simply sojourning in this moment, in this place, in this life. We can only stay somewhere for a temporary period of time. The second will ultimately pass. The day will ultimately fade. And we will discover ourselves on the other side temporarily. What is will not last. What has been will not stay forever. What we are doing will not remain for long. We must grow accustomed to the transient nature of life. Everything shifts around us in a constant state of fluidity and we fade in and out of everything. Drifting slowly or quickly from one thing to another.

Temporary. Temporary. All that exists is temporary.

Therefore, we must make the most of this moment. Of this second before it is too late and it has slipped from our grasp. Holding on tightly will make no different in the long run. We will find ourselves at the end of the day far removed from where we have started the journey. Fluidity. Transitional. Sojourning. What is will not be in the end. We we started as will not be who we end as. Make the most of this moment. Take the time to revel in this very second before it slips past your consciousness. We cannot slow the progression of time, but we can make our eyes aware of the present second. We are simply sojourners in this beautifully fleeting life. See this moment before it passes. Be aware of your life before it is gone from your grasp. Do not let yourself fade away at the end of the day without having lived and loved to the fullest extent of your abilities.

Temporary. Temporary. All that exists is temporary.
