Day 302: The Blessing Of Friends
Friends are the biggest blessings in life and can be part of some of the most wonderful days you have experienced. While in the years we are alive different people come and go into our hearts and out, there is no doubt that without friends, life would be a terrible experience. Our closest friends make the life we live bearable and fun.
Over the past few months we have all been deprived of some of our favorite people in the world. We began to realize how much we took for granted and how our friends are truly more important to us than we realized. We left them with casual "byes" that turned into a far longer period of absence than we thought possible.
Going weeks and weeks without seeing our friends took a toll on all of us I am sure of. And I hope we do not forget the important lessons we learned during that time of isolation. The lesson of making sure every goodbye can last months or longer. The lesson of making sure you enjoy every moment you have with someone else because you don't know if it will be your last.
Life has a great way of showing you the things that are truly important and how they can be taken away in an instant. We must recognize this as the truth and understand that every moment we have with someone could be our last. This life is fleeting and if we do not treat it as such we may regret the ways we acted.
So yes friends are some of the greatest blessings in life, we must never take that for granted. Tell them how much they mean to you and how their friendship has made your life better. Get with them as often as possible, make memories, take pictures, and laugh through every moment you can.
During the hardest times in our lives, our friends will come alongside of us and be there when we need them. Be that for others as well and take it upon yourself to see them through the hardest days of their lives. We are in a difficult period right now and while we still might not be able to see our friends, connect in other ways. Make the effort to be in the lives of people that matter to you.
Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
