Day 265: Doing Your Best
On days that don't feel right and are just not going your way, you need to remember one thing. There will be many times in life when you are struggling and feeling frustrated constantly. I wrote a blog post about being frustrated and today I had another frustrating day. But I was reminded of one small thing and I want to share that with you.
There will be periods of time in your life that just don't go your way. Everything you try seems to fail and no matter how hard you try, you cannot get any further than where you are. It is during those times you need this reminder, it is on days like today that you need to remember this one little thing. That this is this:
Your best is all you can truly do.
When we struggle, instantly we assume that our best is not good enough or that we are simply not trying hard enough. If you are doing the best you can with what you have, allow yourself a little break. Maybe high levels of frustration are from working at your best without giving yourself credit. Allow yourself to give yourself a little praise.
Realize all that you have done and congratulate yourself for where you've gotten. Any amount of effort to move forward is worth noting and keeping track of. While celebrating how far you've come should never sidetrack you from moving forward, it should be motivation to continue fighting the good fight.
There will always be times in our lives when life just seems to be working against you. All your big dreams are in front of you and no matter what you do, they just won't come closer. It is during those times you need to recognize what your best is currently and just keep showing up. Eventually your best will get you where you need going and until them, try again and again and again. For however long it takes.
