Day 215: Movies For Quarantine

As of late, we have all been spending a little more time alone than usual. We're stuck in our houses without a whole lot to do, and to be honest sometimes we can get a little bored. It happens to us all, yet, movies can be a great way to spend moments of boredom. They're entertaining and easy to access, not to mention many movies can spark inside of you idea you never knew you had.

Here are my top movie suggestions for quarantine:

  • 1917 (War/Drama) [R]

By far one of my absolutely favorite movies, I would highly suggest this to everything. Beautiful shot and productive, it is high on the action and suspense. Filmed in one of the most interesting ways possible, this has to be on your list of movies to watch while staying in.

  • Tolkien (Drama/Fantasy) [PG-13]

Based on the legendary author J. R. R. Tolkien, it tells the story of how one of the worlds most famous authors of all time began his career. From boyhood, into his life during the war, and beyond, this movie will captive you every second of the way.

  • Little Women (Romance/Drama) [PG]

Visually stunning from start to finish, this is for all of those viewers who are interested in seeing classic stories come alive in a brand new way. Beloved characters are portrayed in an amazing way in a beautiful fashion, not one to be missed.

  • The Court Jester (Comedy/Musical) [G]

Now this movie, this is a classic. Hilarious from the first moment to the last, it combines a little bit of romance with a whole lot of comedy for the entire family to enjoy. It's a movie that can be watched over and over without you getting tired of it.

  • Inception (Thriller/Sci-Fi) [PG-13]

A classically thrilling movie that is by far one of the most confusing and intriguing films ever. With incredible visuals and amazing actors, this is definitely one of my favorite movies. You'll be at the edge of your seat the entire time, trust me.

  • Morning Glory (Comedy/Romance) [PG-13]

In the mood for a cute chick-flick about a girl trying to make it in the news world? This is the show for you, after watching it the first time, I proceeded to view it two more times the same week. It's the right amount of cute and cheesy.

  • Ford Vs. Ferrari (Sport/Drama) [PG-13]

A true American dream type of storyline where the underdog takes on the most prized winner. Captured in a truly beautiful way with incredible colors, if you're interested in a beautiful story this ones for you, bring tissues.

  • The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Adventure/Comedy) [PG]

A perfect film to watch while stuck inside all day, Walter goes on an incredible adventure all over the world looking for a photographer. If you haven't seen this movie, it should be the next on your list. It will definitely leave you wanting to travel.

  • The Aeronauts (Adventure/Drama) [PG-13]

Simply gorgeous movie based loosely on historical facts that show you the wonders to be found in a world full of clouds as seen from a hot air balloon. It keeps you on the edge of your seat while baffling your mind with gorgeous scenes.

  • Dark Waters (Drama/Thriller) [PG-13]

A suspenseful and rather chilling movie about historical true events that changed everything. A masterpiece of dark, grey visuals this movie capture such a desolate and forlorn vibe. And it touches a little too close to home.

  • A Royal Night Out (Romance/Comedy) [PG-13]

One of the cutest chick-flicks revolving around the current Queen of England (when she was much younger of course). It has you smiling and laughing and generally enjoying yourself the whole time. Definitely a warm, feel good movie.

  • King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (Fantasy/Drama) [PG-13]

I know I've said this several times (I mean it each time) but this is definitely one of my all time favorite movies. Action packed with an incredible soundtrack and cast, this is an incredible film. Nothing is left wanting.

Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
