Day 153: Creating Change
Change is something I write about often because I believe it is something to be accomplished by all who are living today. It takes times and it takes energy, but change is something to be fought for in every area of our lives. We have the potential to become anything we desire to be, the only thing coming between who are now and who we want to be is ourselves.
The human has many restrictions in life, such as the fact that we cannot suddenly sprout wings and fly like a bird. There are just some things we are not able or meant to do. Yet, within our abilities and our possibilities there are endless areas we can change. All we have to do is acknowledge the areas we want to change and set about towards changing them.
Everyone is capable to becoming a brand new version of ourselves, in fact, in order to thrive in a constantly changing world we need to shift with it. However, it is not an easy task which is why we often do not wish to change. It takes too much work and effort. But we can change. I can change. You can change. Anyone who desires it can.
Where do you want to see yourself in a year, five years, ten years? Does that person look exactly like you are today? Probably not. There are probably certain areas of your personality or character traits that have shifted. Maybe you're braver, maybe you are no longer afraid of talking on the phone, maybe you have more consideration for other people. Whatever it is, the future you isn't quite the same as the present you.
We have an imaginary version of ourselves that lives in the folds of our mind. We believe that one day we'll become that version, but we never do anything to further ourselves towards that version. We must begin to align our current actions with what we want our future actions to look like. If we never take that first step to change who we are, we will be in the same exact position 20 years from now.
There is limitless potential inside of us, we must let go of the past version of who we are and begin showing up like our future self. When we take small, calculated steps towards change we will begin to see the results. Until then we will always remain in the same spot. Change is possible, but only if we do the work to make it happen. We can become a new version as soon as we put in the effort to becoming more like that person.
Until Next Time,
