Day 152: Having Patience
Self-grow is a topic of much discussion and debate among many, many people. Everywhere you turn there are books and podcasts and just about every other media promoting the importance of growing. While growing as a person is an incredible important part of life, another aspect needs to be considered. Being patient with yourself.
We want growth and we want it yesterday, and if we cannot have it yesterday, we want it now. We are impatient with the amount of time it takes to grow as a person, changing should be an easy fix shouldn't? At least we believe it should be. Nothing should be easier than changing as a person.
Yet self-growth is incredibly tender. It is not a process that should be rushed or hurried, it is a task that takes time. Weeks, months, maybe even years. It is not something that is intended to be hurried through, if it was wouldn't there be a step by step guided called something like "5 steps to self-growth to accomplish in five days"?
The truth of the matter is this, we cannot rush that which takes time. And it takes time to grow ourselves. It takes time to change who we are. And it takes even more time to figure out what exactly needs changing and how we're going to go about with those changes. There is no greater investment than self-growth and we must take our time.
Many areas of life should never be rushed. Areas such as love and dreams. This is another area that should simply never be rushed, the results will never be in our favor if we hurry our way through change. It cannot be done if we truly want something that will benefit us in the long run.
So take your time. Take care of yourself and learn to grow in a way that is careful and leisurely. Have pertinence that it will all turn our wonderfully in the end if we only step back from the race track and turn towards the scenic byway. Somethings are worth waiting for, self-growth is one of them.
Until Next Time,
