Day 355: Through The Pages
Reading is such an important part of life. It is something that we find ourselves walking away from later in life as our free time gets smaller and our lives get busier. However, there are so many adventures we have yet to go on because we have yet to open that next book to see where it would take us.
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved stories. Even before I was able to read and my parents would read me stories, I was entranced by the stories contained within two covers. Entire worlds exists there in those pages and we can dive into them if only we opened the cover and began reading that first page.
Over the course of my almost nineteen years on earth, I have probably read thousands of books. Some more than once, most fiction, and some nonfiction. There have been ones I love and ones that are not that great. Each book holds a story and I am completely captivated by them.
I encourage you to pick up and book and see where it will take you. Fiction or nonfiction, there is so much to discover within the pages of a single volume. There is such little time to read in our lives, but I am sure if we took it upon ourselves to make room we could find the time. Just a few minutes a day can lead you in a few pages at a time.
Within those pages you will find adventures and a second life. You can live through the characters, you can experience new things through the lens of the author, and everything can be new again when you dive into a story that is not your own.
Stories have powerful, powerful effect on us and we never know which book will touch our hearts next. Pick up that story, venture to the library, open the cover of a book you've always wanted to read and see where you find yourself. The world is yours to explore and the best way to do that is through the pages of a book.
Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
