Day 345: All The Little Steps

We often read about taking big steps in the are we desire to grow in or find success in. Online and in person we tend to see people's big steps forward that look like massive leaps, but we feel as if we've never been able to take such a big and important step in our own journey's. However, usually we forget how limited our perspective is.

There is no such thing as one big step that will take us from where we are now to where we want to be. It's impossible and the sooner you stop thinking there will be this one you to do for success, the better off you will be. Because the reality is we see one step when there were thousands of little tiny steps to make up that one step.

Because of where we sit in relation to the life of someone we are comparing ourselves with, we only see the end result. All the hours and sleepless nights that backed up that result go unseen by us because in our view they are less important than where that person ended up. But there is a lesson we can learn from people who are succeeding.

That lesson is that it takes thousands of hours of hard work. We have to pick up our feet again and again and again, taking the tiniest steps in order to inch towards our goals. It can take years to get to a place where you can look back and see actual progress. The big steps we see others take are coming at the end of a long period of dedicated work.

We must be so committed to our goals and dreams that we're willing to spend most of our lives trying to get to a place where we can say we have succeeded. We must be willing to put in hours upon hours of hard work and sweat into our beautiful and shining dreams. They are worth every second of it, but we must do work and less comparing ourselves to others versions of success.

Work must be put in before we can celebrate a step towards our dreams. We have to do everything in our power to take the small steps to push up closer and closer to where we want to be. So the question for you is, what little steps can you take right now that will get you closer and closer to being able to say you've taken a big step forward?

Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
