Day 290: Better Late Than Never

There is an expression that goes "Better Late Than Never" and how true that is. Time really, truly flies by during our lives. We blink and suddenly it's five years in the future and we scramble to try and get back what time we have lost. However, it doesn't work quite like that.

When time is gone, it's really and truly gone. Nothing we do will ever be able to get it back. And that is okay. We cannot spend our lives crying over the time we have lost doing things that maybe weren't truly our priorities. Life should be lived by making the most of the time you have right now because that is the only second that matters, the one you are living out currently.

We all have things we want to do in life. Big things, little things, medium things, and everything in between. And I want this to be a reminder to you that it is never too late to chase those things. You might feel like you have your entire life ahead of your or like you have used up all the time you have, but no matter where you are in life, if you are alive, you have time to pursue your dreams.

If you find yourself on a path that is not going in the direction you want to go, step off of it. You can quit anything and start anything at any point in time. You don't have to wait for a new day, a Monday, the start of a new month, or even the beginning of a year. You can step away right here right now and start living your dream life. Because it is truly better late than never.

Start that career you have always wanted to pursue, reach out to that person you've liked for years, etc. Do what your heart is calling you to do because you have all the time in the world and no time at all. Don't waste what you have living a life you don't want to have. There are endless possibilities out there and there's nothing saying you cannot chase them. So go out and run after your dreams, the time is now.

Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
