Day 286: Asking For Help

In life, we try to get through everything by ourselves. Our life is ours and we dare not reach out for help in any area ever. That would show weakness and vulnerability, it could possibility reveal the fact that we don't know what we're doing. But I will let you in on a little secret, asking for help is not admitting that you are weak, it is admitting your goals take great strength to reach.

No one should have to walk this earth alone. We are not meant to build a life by ourselves without any sort of help or assistance, that's not how it works. Asking for help does not mean we are weak, we are not weak if we are actively pursuing the dreams we want to see come true.

Imagine trying to hoist up an incredibly heavy object with a rope made up of one strand. It would fray, snap, and break before we were able to lift the object where we needed it to go. Now imagine you had several strand to make up a rope, you would be able to lift the object because your rope is so much stronger.

We are just like ropes, everyone is a single strand and when we come together, we form a rope of multiple strands. When we ask for someone's help we are not getting rid of our strand of rope, we are adding in a new strand that makes it even stronger than before. Asking for help makes you stronger because you are not working alone any more.

Everyone has weaknesses and if you incorporate multiple people into your plans, you are able to compensate for the areas that lack strength. You bring in more expertise, you bring in other points of view, you bring in the ability to see things you might not. Having someone help you with your dreams and your visions is not compromising it, it is going to help it in the long run.

If you need it, ask for help. There's nothing wrong with building a team of people around you who want to help you grow and succeed. And the great thing is that once you've built a team, you will be able to help other people as well. It will become your platform for success and accomplishments.

Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
