Day 261: Connection Through Art
Art is an incredibly powerful tool in the world, it has been since the very beginning and it will be till the very last. Art has the power to communicate between people and convey emotions and stories without saying a single thing. There is truly nothing quite as powerful and impactful as art.
Communication is a divinely beautiful way to form connections. And connections, they may be the most beautiful thing of all. To be able to say you feel strong emotions towards something or someone, that is truly one of the most beautiful parts of life. No matter what one might tell themselves, we all desire to feel connected and we often strive for that connection through communication.
Art has the ability to communicate. To communicate emotions, feelings, character traits, stories, memories, and even more. A viewer is able to see that communication within the details of the painting, sculpture, photograph, etc. They tell of so much more than the surface level beauty, they sing of stories hidden deeper and call for others to look closely. The viewer communicates with art because it tells of so many things within the colors, the pose, the lighting, and anything else of significance within the frame.
Because of the communication, there is connection. The stories draw others in and form a link from their heart to the work, even if it's only for a brief second. Art forms connections with the people who know deep down that the art is speaking directly to their soul. Those who see the story find the connection, and art has a way of creating an inseparable connection with the viewer.
Art is able to connect thousands of people who have never met because of the communication it shares with the world. Those who are touched by the work will carry it with them in their hearts for years and possibly into their graves. Art impacts the soul without having to literally speak to someone.
Because the art has impact, therefore, the artist has impact. There is someone behind every piece of art that exists on the face of the planet. They strive to create something meaningful and in doing so they create the most meaningful thing on earth, connection. The artist ties the artwork to their soul in their own unique connection between creation and creator. An inseparable bond that in turn unintentionally connects every viewer with the artist.
Therefore, an invisible string runs from artist to art and from the art to the viewer, connecting the world through art.
Until Next Time,
