Day 245: Childhood Movies
Rewatching old movies is a really wonderful thing to do, especially during quarantine when there isn't much else to do. It's especially wonderful if these old movies are from your childhood and you have not seen them in forever. Add in a bonus if you're watching them with a good friend.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that I had that opportunity recently. I hadn't seen this movie in years, ever since I was a really little kid sitting in the lap of my granny. While it may not have been a movie specifically designed for my childhood (it came out in 1989 and I was born in 2001), it definitely made a strong appearance in my childhood.
That movie was "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids".
Watching it again after so many years was like reliving a little piece of my childhood. It brought back a lot of memories of where I watched it and with who I watched it. This time it was my friend and I sprawled across my bed laughing at every new development and rooting for the relationship between Amy and Russ. It was a lot of fun.
This blog post is going to be short, sweet and to the point because I would like you to do something. If there is a movie or a tv show (I'm also very partial to The Little Mermaid tv show, which my friend and I started watching as well) that reminds you of your childhood, I would like you to rewatch it. There's nothing in it for anyone, except revisiting something that help shape you into the person you are today. Memories are special and sometimes the greatest reminder is a little piece of our history.
What movie reminds you of your childhood and why?
Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
