Day 223: Failure And Getting Up Again

Sometimes you don't always get it right, sometimes you just don't succeed. You make a commitment and it falls through. Yesterday I wrote about keeping your commitments and staying focused by reminding yourself why you started. Today, I want this post to be encouragement for everyone out there who feels like they failed at something in their lives.

We don't always succeed and that's okay. Often, we fail more than we make it. Even the best of us, the most successful, and the people who look like they have it all together have failed countless times in their lives. Sometimes it's a little failure that is easy to get back up from, other times it's a ginormous failing that sends you reeling for days, weeks, or even years.

My reminder to you today is that it is okay to fail. In fact, it is wonderful if you fail. Failing means you're trying hard at something, failing means you're probably barking up the right tree, failing means you need to grow more in your life. Failure is not failure, failure is learning and growing. Giving up is failure, if you're simply giving up this post is not for you, but if you're really trying and not making it, you have hope.

Failing hard takes guts. It takes a strong backbone and something saying that they're wiling to risk a lot eve in the face of not making it. You have to have goals and vision in order to set after something even when you know you might not make it. When you fail, you must remember why you started in the first place and you must encourage yourself to get up. Starting over in the face of failure is by far one of the hardest and most important decisions of your life.

Nothing in life is easy and sometimes it takes more than one shot to make it. What you are reaching for is an incredible goal, do not give up simply because you fail. Reach even harder for what is not quite yourself because it will come in due time. If you work hard and continue to try and try again, success will come to you. Success comes when you fail, because failing means you learn. You learn new ways to do something, better ways of going about a challenge. Failure helps you become the person you need to be in order to reach your goals. So keep going, you might not be there yet but you will be.

Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
