Day 196: Searching For Freedom
It’s that claustrophobic feeling as if the whole world is trapping you and keeping you from reaching the light. It’s the feeling of everything tangling with your limbs and pulling you back from the surface. It’s the realization that you simply cannot exist as you are now in this current moment.
You can feel the weight of the world crashing down on you and you want out, you want to be free.Nothing is more suffocating than when you see the situation you are in and you want to change, yet you feel as if you cannot. There is something holding you back, tugging at your very soul that keeps you tied down. The weight on your shoulders can be unbearable, it pushes and pulls at your heart, bringing it down further into the darkness.
Yet just above you is the surface, is fresh, clean, and crisp air. The dry and bitter air that you are breathing now does not refresh your lungs and all you desire is a taste of what is above. You cling to the hope that one day you will discover a way out and a way up into the freedom. A chance to see new sights, to move without restriction, to find the growth you so desperately wish to see take place inside of you.
There must be an opening, a way out, a small sliver of light that could penetrate into the deep darkness wrapping itself around you. Each day seems heavier than the last, until one day you find it. The smallest sliver of light. The tiniest breeze of fresh air. The littlest hope of finding freedom after all.
In that moment the darkness does not seem as heavy and the vines tangled around you do not feel as strong as they once did. What once held you back for so long does not seem as intrusive as it has for so much time. The strand of hope led you to the place of actualization and you found a way onto the surface and into the fresh air. The darkness around you no longer has a hold on your soul.
The world will not press down heavily on your shoulders forever and the stuffy air will not suffocate your lungs for the rest of your life. There must be a search for your freedom, for your way out, for your opportunity to come into the world as an entirely new person. There is always hope of leaving behind the darkness, the weight, and the suffocating pressure we find ourselves trapped within.
Until Next Time,
