Day 108: Intoxication Of Travel
There is something so amazing and beautiful about traveling. The act of leaving the house with the intent of making your way elsewhere to stay for a while. It is a tremendous step to take in the hopes of making memories that will last for the rest of your life.
If you are ever given the chance to travel . . . take it. Traveling changes you from the inside out, however, I will warn you that the more you do it the more you will want to go. It can easily be described as intoxicating. You have this amazing opportunity to go and see and before you realize it you're back home wishing you could simply go again.
I'm not exactly sure what it is about traveling, but it is simply one of the most amazing things in the world. Even traveling on day trips can be incredibly rewarding. The thought of leaving, experiencing something new, and returning home again leads to the most wondrous moments and memories.
Last year I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to several different places from Washington, D.C. to Scotland, Paris to Virginia Beach. It is truly incredible. Family trips are some of my favorites because you are able to go with people you love and spent time with them doing new and exciting things.
Adventure waits around every corner, waiting to snatch you up and carry you away on amazing journeys. People you have never seen before and will probably never see again pass you right and left with vivid and meaningful stories of their own. You begin to look at the world with a new lens. You can see things in new ways and in a light that is a little different than before.
Traveling grows your understanding of the world around you and the people in it. Not to mention you learn so much about yourself, traveling will uncover things you never knew to be within you. Traveling is about more than discovering the beauty of the world we live on, it is about finding the beauty in the people around us and the beauty within us.
Never pass up an opportunity to travel, anywhere and everywhere. You will never regret the trips you took, they taught you something. You will only grow to regret the trips that you passed up and did not take. Travel often and travel now.
Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
