Day 69: Waiting On Time

Having to wait is by far one of the worst feelings in the world. It is time consuming, irritating and relatively hard to participate in. However, there will be periods in our life when we experience long stretches of waiting.

No matter what we are waiting for, these periods come to us all. They seem to extend beyond the realms of time and we are consumed by these dry periods of nothing. To have to wait seems to be the bane of human existence. No one wants to have to wait and yet we all have at some point or another found ourselves waiting.

Unfortunately when we encounter these lengthy stretches of time, we might not be sure what we are exactly waiting for. We know something has to happen in order for us to progress, however that something remains elusive. This can often be the hardest part, the not knowing that comes with waiting.

There is no way we can plan out this course of waiting, we fall to the whims of time which does not answer to our deadlines. Days can feel unmoving and unchangeable without a visible escape. Waiting forces us to have patience, a skill that can be hard to engage in.

However, when we wait, when we truly wait, the best things in life will often come to us. Rushing ahead does not always provide us with the best opportunities or the best experiences. Sometimes we have to wait and allow things to pass through our life before what is intended for us comes our way.

Waiting can feel like the hardest thing to do, however, it can lead to opportunities we never imagined possible. Be patient and know that what is coming will come in it's own time.

Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
