Here we are again at the end of yet another month feeling like it should not be over quite so quickly. I don’t know about you, but I do believe August went by the fast of all the months we have encountered this year. I’m not even 100% sure it truly happened. However, it did which is why I find myself writing yet another recap.
August was a rather slow month for how quickly it passed by. My mom, sister, and dad have all been working a lot which means I have spent more time alone this month than any month prior. While this has both its downsides and benefits, overall I have been enjoying my time alone.
Filled with a mixture of emotions, this month has been seeped in lack of creativity and the stress of making a big decision. For weeks on end I haven’t been able to shake this feeling of creative burnout and it is honestly getting on my last good nerve, but still it persists and still I cannot find a way out of it.
The decision I have been struggling with is whether or not to continue dancing with everyone is required to wear masks. I’ve been dancing for nearly seventeen years of my life and while I am nearing the point where I truly need to move on from ballet, I’m struggling with letting it go. I am wilting under the requirement of wearing a mask for ballet class and I’ve been considering not dancing until a later point quite seriously. But still my response to this decision is I don’t know which has caused quite a lot of stress.
But other than the negative aspects of this month, I have had the amazing opportunity of creating an album cover for the very talented musician Joseph O’Brien. It was a lot of fun working with him earlier in the month and then finishing the image through the weeks that have followed. The song will be released this week and I am looking forward to seeing it all come together.
There has been a ton of rain recently and I’ve been enjoying ever second of it, especially the cooler temperatures that have given me hope that fall is close at hand and come quickly towards us. The fall colors are calling to me and while everything is still very much green, I cannot wait for them to fade into the beautiful hues of gold, red, and yellow.
This month has been a rather normal and abnormal month all at the same time with high highs and low lows. It’s been a mixture of emotions and a strong longing for community which has been so canceled this year. I’m still trudging on and I hope that you are as well. Together we’ll come out of the slums and get back into the sunshine and swing of things.
Biggest Lesson Learned: Community is the greatest pillar of our happiness.
Favorite Moment: Chasing an incredibly beautiful sunset after an ominous storm.
Summed Up In One Word: Mundane.
Until Next Time,
