Day 193: Day In The Life No. 3

Good Morning! Today was another Day In The Life on my Instagram story and I am very excited to share it here on my blog with a little more written detail. The day began much like other days with me staying up far too late and not getting quite enough sleep. Which led to me waking up at 8:20 a.m. and proceeding to go back to bed until 10:00 a.m.

After I woke up for the second time, I instantly proceeded to enter into my morning routine which included reading my Bible, doing my devotional, reading out of my current nonfiction book, and writing in my journal. Although, of course, I had to get a cup of tea before anything else happened.

Following my morning routine, which took quite a long while to finish, I decided to make myself breakfast/lunch. I’ve decided to do a 30 day challenge of growing in every area of my life, including physically, which included my diet. I’ve been trying to eat healthier so for breakfast I had oatmeal with pecans and a mixed berry smoothie. All while listening to the “You’re Welcome” podcast on Spotify.

Last night I shot an image in a nearby field and after I had finished eating, I began working on this image. And I had literally no idea what I was doing. The concept was different from anything I had done before, which meant I had to do a lot of fiddling in order to try and get it to work. Not to mention my computer kept freezing and keeping me from making any good headway.

Around 4 p.m. I decided to continue on from editing and head into my workout. I ran on the treadmill and then did some ab and arm workouts as well. Probably the hardest part of being at home so much is not having a whole lot of physical activity. However, with my 30 day challenge I’ve been making sure I get some sort of workout in every single day.

After working out my family and I ate dinner and I went outside for a short walk before getting ready for a photoshoot. The night before, I had polled my Instagram following to hear what they want my photoshoot to consist of. They decided on a mountain overlook as the location, a formal gown as the costume, and a vintage suitcase for the prop.

The first part of the photoshoot was done in front of a back bed sheet hanging in front of my garage and the second part was completed in my backyard in a incredibly beautiful location. It was a perfect evening for the shoot and it all went really well.

Once back inside my family met together in the family room and we watched three episodes of the tv show “Leverage.” Which is an incredible show and I would highly suggest it to anyone looking for something to watch. After that, I got ready for bed, wrote in my journal and finished this blog post.

Not much has changed since the quarantine has begun. My overall routine is quite the same, I have simply been given more freedom to pursue my creativity and art. I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. This has been a little look into what my life looks like during this time of social distancing.

Until Next Time,
Lillian Merritt
